Nelson Mandela Bay Ocean Racing Series

Africa's largest family lifestyle event takes place in Nelson Mandela Bay between October and March each year. Held mostly on alternate Sunday mornings (12 race days per season) each race day consists of 5 simulatenously run events; 1km Ocean Swim, 3km Ocean Swim; 5km Beach Run/Walk, 5km Ocean Paddle and the Kids 12 and under 1km Beach Run/Walk.

SPAR Redhouse River Mile

Africa's oldest open water swimming event is held in Nelson Mandela Bay mid to late February each year. Tide assisted one mile swim where the guys and girls swim seperately in their own event and triathlete's also have their own "wetsuit mile". Fun swim races are available for the younger kids.

Madiba Bay Bell Bouy Challenge

A 7km ocean swim from Hobie Beach, Port Elizabeth to the Bell Buoy and back - the bell buoy is siutated 3.5km from Hobie Beach and about 2.5km off shore and makes for a very challenging ocean swim. PE's open water swimmer, Kyle Main did a solo double crossing of this swim in April 2009. Won in 2010 by World Champions Petar Stoychev (Bulgaria) and Melissa Gorman (Australia).

Sabrina Love Ocean Challenge
